Fotos Joanopolis

Lake formed to supply water to the capital city, São Paulo. It's one of seven reservatories, each a little lower than the other, linked by tunnels.

Hi Julia!
I love your blog. History is one of my favorite subjects, but I never knew about the Southeners immigrating to Brazil. I'm looking forward to reading about your American grandmother and the other settlers and seeing the gorgeous photos of the landscape.

Many Southeners settled here next to the Merced River in my tiny California Central Valley town in the 1840's and 1850's.

Anyway, I can't wait to read more!
